This project aims to involve the community of Pinner. Everyone, young and old, is invited to bring a photograph or other photographic reproduction (e.g. photocopy of a photograph) of a place, a building, a viewpoint or another aspect of the environment of Pinner and to write a short piece describing its connection to the contributor and why it has a particular personal resonance.
A key aspect of this project is to show how familiar environments have such a collective and varied resonance. With this in mind the text accompanying the photograph is particularly of interest for this project.
The sheet available for the contributions has a space for a photographic image and for text below and is downloadable here or can be picked up from the library. The contributions can of course be provided anonymously.
The contributions will be displayed on a board in Pinner Library during Pinner Arts Week www.pinnerartsweek.com from 23 September – 2 October 2016 by Pinner-based artist Charlotte Harker. One of the aims of this community project will be to reproduce the contributions in book form.
